Chlorine Dioxide is the Best Way to Disinfect

Since Chlorine Dioxide is an EPA-approved water disinfection product, wherever disinfection of water is necessary, it is a natural choice. Now that the challenges of past systems have been overcome with the CLO2IX® product line, Chlorine Dioxide can actually be applied safely and instantaneously in a pure solution. These unique properties open markets for Chlorine Dioxide that were previously closed as is demonstrated by the hundreds of CLO2IX® installations worldwide.

EPA approved Chlorine Dioxide is a powerful tool in eliminating legionella in chillers and cooling towers. Here's more about Chlorine Dioxide applications managed by CLO2IX systems.

It only take 6 mils of biofilm thickness to decrease heat transfer by 12%. This means that more power is consumed to achieve the same amount of cooling. Eliminate the biofilm, and cooling towers return to their peak performance. However, once a biofilm has been established, mechanical cleaning cannot remove all traces of it. In fact, mechanically cleaned surfaces are more rapidly colonized than new surfaces. The best solution for a cooling tower that is not operating on Chlorine Dioxide biocide program is to mechanically clean it with a CLO2IX® Portable System and then prevent the recolonization of the biofilm with a permanently installed CLO2IX® system.
